Today, Year 6 celebrated Science in all its awe and wonder. The pupils began Science Day by answering their Biscuit Banaza question – Are expensive biscuits better dunkers? For this experiment, the pupils had to carry out a comparative test and use a range of equipment to answer their question. It turns out that YES, more expensive biscuits are indeed better dunkers!
After this, the pupils then attempted to break a Guiness World Record – the longest curly wurly stretch without breaking in 3 minutes. The current record is 4.35 metres in 3 minutes, and the closest we achieved in Year 6 was… 2.6 metres! Well done Kehinde and Alfie from Amethyst Class.
Finally, the pupils had an opportunity to explore electrical circuits. The pupils created a range of circuits using buzzers, bulbs, motors and wires. As well as this, we completed a challenge to find out how many paper clips could be added to the circuit before stopping the flow of electricity.
