This week in Maths, Year 6 have been working hard on some important skills and putting their problem-solving to the test!
🔢 Recap on Addition
Children revisited how to add whole numbers with more than 4 digits using the column method. This helped them practise lining up digits carefully, carrying over when needed, and checking answers for accuracy.
➖ Recap on Subtraction
They also recapped how to subtract whole numbers with more than 4 digits using the column method. This gave children the opportunity to remind themselves about exchanging (borrowing), making sure to subtract each digit correctly.
🧩 Maths Challenge
To finish the week, pupils took on a special challenge where letters represented numbers! This activity tested their logical thinking and perseverance, as they had to work out which numbers matched which letters to solve the puzzle.
