This week, Year 6 explored the very beginning of John’s Gospel, where Jesus is described as both the Word and the Light. The children discussed why Jesus might be given these titles and what they mean for Christians today. To deepen their understanding, they reflected on the idea of Jesus as a shining light, guiding, comforting and bringing hope. Each pupil then created their own artwork showing Jesus as light, inspired by their personal reflections on how He has been a light in their own lives. The results were thoughtful and creative, showing how Year 6 are learning to connect scripture with their own experiences in a meaningful way.
