In Topic, the pupils have been furthering their understanding of the Mayans by exploring what other worldwide & British events occurred around the same time as them. The pupils also looked at the four different periods of the Mayans: Preclassic, Classic, Postclassic & Spanish Conquest. They then created timelines outside with chalk, accompanied by traditional Mayan music to add authenticity.
The pupils also spent some time using Kahoot to practice some key concepts and consolidate their understanding of Maths, Punctuation & Grammar. The pupils played by themselves as well as with teams, finally challenging the teachers!
The week was capped off with a wonderful celebration of King Charles’ Coronation. The pupils started off with their sponsored bounce before having a lovely lunch with their teachers.
Finally, we completed some art inspired by King Charles which absolutely blew us away. The pictures below speak for themselves!
