In Year 5’s Religion lesson this week, students explored the story of Moses and the Burning Bush. After reading the scripture from the Bible, the class took part in a lively role play activity, bringing the dramatic encounter between Moses and God to life. The students were highly engaged and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the story acted out, helping them to better understand the powerful moment when God called Moses to lead His people. Afterwards, the class took time to reflect on the significance of God speaking through the Burning Bush, discussing how it showed God’s presence, power, and purpose for Moses.
In English this week, Year 5 students revisited the powerful picture book The Promise. They focused on the opening pages, exploring how the main character is described as mean, hard, and ugly, and how the author uses vivid language to portray a dark and desolate city. To deepen their understanding, students took part in a drama activity where one student stood in the middle while the rest of the class re-enacted key scenes from the story. Through this engaging activity, students explored the characters’ personalities, emotions, and motivations, bringing the story to life and developing a deeper connection to the text.
This week in P.E., Year 5 students had a fantastic time practising their basketball skills while enjoying the lovely spring weather. The session focused on dribbling, passing, and shooting techniques, with plenty of fun games and teamwork activities to keep everyone active and engaged. Students showed great enthusiasm and energy, supporting one another and celebrating each other’s progress. It was a wonderful opportunity to build skills, stay active and make the most of the sunshine!
