This week in Religion, Year 5 explored what it truly means to “love our neighbour” in today’s world. We discussed how this teaching calls us to show kindness, compassion, and welcome to everyone—especially strangers and refugees who may be new to our community.
To bring our learning to life, the students took part in a role-play activity where they imagined a new student joining our class from another country. They thought carefully about how it might feel to be new and what actions could make someone feel included and valued.
Through their performances, the children demonstrated how to be a good neighbour, showing empathy, patience, and respect. They also reflected on how the theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity, along with the cardinal virtues of prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance, can guide our everyday choices and relationships.

Please remember that swimming starts on Monday (the first week back after the break). It is only for the students who put down that they could not swim 25m independently in the survey.
We hope you have a fantastic half term break.
Kind regards,
Mr Leech and Miss Quinn.
