Baroness Floella Benjamin hosted a vibrant live event this week to mark the 30th anniversary of her acclaimed children’s memoir, Coming to England. She revisited the tale of her journey from Trinidad to the UK during the Windrush era which was first published in October 1995. The book shares reflections on immigration, resilience and belonging. The celebration highlighted her mission to inspire young listeners through storytelling and to underscore the enduring relevance of her message: that courage, kindness and determination can bridge cultures and generations.
Year 5 students had a blast this week during a jumping castle activity. The students were able to showcase their jumping skills, competed in friendly challenges and have some fun. Thank you to the parent volunteers who organised and supervised the event. The lively atmosphere, combined with a sense of teamwork and community spirit, made the day a memorable one for all involved.
