Over the past few days, Year 4 have enjoyed some wonderfully hands-on and creative learning as they responded to the big question: “Where is God?” This reflective and imaginative journey led the children to express their thoughts and beliefs through the medium of art, specifically, by creating their own stained glass-inspired masterpieces. Drawing inspiration from traditional stained glass windows often found in churches, the children explored how colour, light, and imagery can be used to represent God’s presence in the world and in their lives. They used poster paints and watercolours to design their own vibrant windows, each one unique and deeply personal.
Throughout the process, Year 4 showed incredible creativity, thoughtfulness, and care. Some children chose to depict natural scenes where they feel close to God, such as sunsets, trees, or the ocean. Others included symbols of love, peace, and kindness – powerful reminders of how we can see God in the actions of others. This was a beautiful opportunity for the children to combine art with faith, and their finished work is a testament to their growing understanding of spirituality, imagination, and God’s presence in everyday life.
Well done, Year 4, for your amazing effort and for reminding us all that God can be found in the beauty we create and the love we share!
