Next week, we will be taking part in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. In preparation for this, Sister Anne joined us today to deliver a retreat for both classes. Sister Anne shared a beautiful song with us and we focused on how our attention during reconciliation should be more on God’s mercy rather than the sinfulness.
We created our own ‘Lent Plates’ which combined sharing and recording responses about what we want to learn more about, who to listen to and love, as well as what to let go of. Some responses included:
‘To listen to God’s words. Treat everyone equally’
‘To love everything you have and be grateful’
‘To learn more about how I can follow God in different ways’
‘To let go of bad habits and replace them with things God will agree with’
‘To push myself to the limit to be the best me’
‘To love everyone including our enemy we don’t like’
‘To learn more about how the world can become a better place’
‘To light up the world’
‘To let go of our bad feelings’
Sister Anne also shared with us a Lenten Rap, which brought the words to life and shared a very special message – we particularly enjoyed ‘Help create a world that is just and fair!’
