Today was a fantastic Friday in Year 4, filled with hands-on Science fun! Our young scientists spent the morning conducting an exciting experiment to answer the question: Does the amount of sugar in a liquid affect how long a biscuit can be dunked?
To make sure our test was fair, the children only changed one variable – the amount of sugar in the liquid. Everything else stayed the same, including:
-
the type of biscuit used
-
the amount of liquid in each cup
-
the temperature of the water
-
the way we dunked each biscuit
-
the size and shape of the container
Working like real scientists, the children made predictions, carefully recorded their results and discussed what they had observed to draw their conclusions. It was wonderful to see their teamwork, curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the investigation. We’re proud of how they applied their learning to such a fun (and slightly soggy!) challenge. Well done, Year 4! 🧪👏
