We’ve had a busy and exciting week in Year 4!
Today was extra special as the children took part in the PFA Sponsored Bounce. There were big smiles, lots of laughter, and plenty of bouncing energy! Thank you so much to the PFA for organising such a fun event, the children loved it and showed brilliant enthusiasm throughout.
Alongside all the fun, the children have also been working incredibly hard. This week, they’ve been showing off everything they’ve learned in our end-of-year assessments, and we’re so proud of the focus, determination, and resilience they’ve shown. A big well done as well to everyone who completed the Multiplication Tables Check! The children have put in so much effort in preparing for this, and it really showed. Their confidence with times tables is growing stronger every day.
In Science, we’ve been exploring our topic on electricity. The children have enjoyed working with circuits, experimenting with components like bulbs, switches and buzzers to see how they work and what happens when we change different parts. In RE, we’ve been looking at 1 Corinthians, focusing on Paul’s message in his epistle about faith, hope and love. The children reflected thoughtfully on what these values mean in their own lives.
A real highlight this week was attending a virtual Zoom session with author Floella Benjamin. She spoke to us about her inspiring book Coming to England and shared her powerful story of arriving in the UK as a child. The children listened with great interest and asked thoughtful questions,
it was a truly meaningful experience.
Thank you for your continued support at home, it really makes a difference. We’re looking forward to more exciting learning (and hopefully a bit more sunshine!) in the weeks ahead!
