This week, Year 4 had an action-packed few days filled with learning, creativity, and inspiration. From a thrilling theatre trip to an engaging workshop on online safety and an exciting visit from a STEM professional, there was something for everyone to enjoy! On Thursday afternoon, our Year 4 pupils had the wonderful opportunity to visit London’s West End to see Mrs. Doubtfire: The Musical. The show was a spectacular mix of comedy, music, and heartfelt moments that had the children laughing, clapping and thoroughly entertained.
In addition to our theatre trip, the children participated in a 3 Discovery workshop focused on online safety. With the internet playing such a big role in our lives, it is crucial for children to understand how to stay safe online. During the session, they learned about key online safety tips, including protecting personal information, being kind online, and recognising potential risks. As part of the workshop, the students worked in groups to create informative videos on iPads, sharing their top tips on staying safe in the digital world. Their creativity and enthusiasm were truly impressive!
To wrap up the week, Year 4 welcomed a special guest – a parent who works in the computer games development industry. She shared fascinating insights into her career, explaining how video games are created and the different skills required to work in the field. The children were particularly excited to learn about the creative and technical aspects of game design and had plenty of questions about how they could get involved in this exciting industry in the future.
