We have made it to the final half term!
This week we welcomed back our classes for their last half term as year threes. We have hit the ground running this week in all areas of our curriculum. In English, we started our new book ‘Into the Forest’. We started exploring the different characters in the story through writing and drama. Pupils had an opportunity to investigate the different dilemmas faced by the protagonist throughout the narrative. In science, we started our new topic ‘The Nappy Challenge’ where we will follow on from the year 2 topic ‘materials’ and explore the science behind the making of nappies. In Geography, we began studying the topic ‘coasts’. Pupils explored the different coastal locations in the UK and experienced plotting these locations on a map of the UK.
In other areas of school life, pupils met author Frank Cottrell Boyce during an interesting and engaging author visit this morning. Pupils had the opportunity to ask questions and even hear snippets from his new book ‘Noah’s Gold.’ In addition to this, pupils also took part in a science workshop today where they had the opportunity to engage in invigorating and spectacular physics and chemistry experiments. What a treat!
Have a fantastic weekend!
