What an exciting day we had for National Poetry Day! We were very lucky to have Kate Wakeling come into our classrooms for a very special poetry performance. Kate read our favourite poem ‘Comet’ – she read it soooo quickly, we could hardly keep up! We also created some of our own sound effects to add to her ‘Moon Juice’! Then, in the afternoon it was over to us. Well done to Maya in Green class and Ella-Grace and Jenita from Emerald class for performing their own poems, based on change, on the stage for all the children in Key Stage 2. We definitely have some budding future poets among us.
Earlier on in the week, we were also visited by professional tennis player and former Wimbledon competitor, Jo Ward. Jo led coaching session and taught us how to practise our tennis skills using BALLOONS!! We had lots of fun making a human net and trying to keep the balloon under control!
Reminders:
Emerald class invite you to join us for our class assembly on Friday 12th October at 9:30am in the KS2 Hall.
