This week we welcomed back our Year 3’s after a well-deserved rest following a very busy and productive half-term. This week, pupils launched themselves back into learning as we began some brand-new topics. We started off our week with a spectacular spelling bee. Pupils had opportunities to recite spellings they had learned over the break before their peers. It was great to see so many pupils taking part!
In science, we started our new topic ‘Food and Our Bodies’. This week our focus was ‘living things and what they need to survive. Pupils collaborated well with their partners to identify what humans and animals need to survive and compared this to what plants need to survive to make links with their previous topic. In addition, we explored the rights of a child through our work in Religion lessons this week. Our focus as a year group was to explore a child’s right to share their beliefs. Pupils got creative with their beautiful artwork and engaging poems which highlighted this particular focus on the rights of a child.
