In PE this week, Year 2 began their new topic, Team Building. The children took part in games that encouraged them to communicate, listen, and work together.
We started with a lively game called “Who Are You?”. Each child was given an animal noise, and their challenge was to find the secret members of their group by listening carefully for others making the same sound. The playground was soon filled with giggles and a chorus of animal calls as the children searched for their teammates!
Next, we moved on to a hula hoop challenge. The children formed a chain, holding hands, and worked together to pass the hula hoop down the line without breaking their link. This required patience, balance, and lots of encouragement for one another.
Both games reminded us how important it is to cooperate, trust, and support each other. Year 2 showed brilliant teamwork, and we can’t wait to see how their skills grow as we continue this topic.
