In our learning this week we have begun to explore our new topic ‘How does your garden grow?’ This science topic will focus on plants and how they grow. Pupils had the opportunity to investigate the parts of a flower and how they work. Later in the week pupils also got to carry out a nature walk around the school grounds. We were searching for spring flowers that grow in our local area.
In English we have started our new text ‘The Iron Man.’ Pupils gained insight into the main character through an exploration of different images. We carried out a character study and probed different questions about his external and internal character. On Wednesday we had an author visit from the fantastic Emer Stamp. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed this visit and were eager to begin their new books.
