For this week’s Caritas in action, we turned again to remind ourselves of the meaning of the word ‘solidarity’ with a focus on current affairs. Pupils gained further insight into the meaning of solidarity through discussions about the war in Ukraine and how we can show solidarity to those affected by war. Pupils had the opportunity to look at war under a biblical lense and investigate the religious perspective on war. As a year group, we came to recognise how we can show solidarity towards Ukraine by following Jesus’ teachings.
In other areas of the curriculum, we have been continuing our study of a ‘threat narrative’, and pupils are now in the planning stages of their big write. In science, we received some fantastic labeled diagrams of the flower and have continued to carry out experiments on water transportation. Furthermore, in maths, we have started to study fractions and have moved on from the topic ‘measuring length’.
Our Easter production rehearsals are well underway and we encouraged all pupils to continue practicing their lines and songs.
Have a fantastic weekend!
