Today was an amazing day for Year 2 because we had Science Day! We took part in three fun experiments that made us smile and learn new things.
Our first experiment was all about Skittles! We placed some Skittles in a shallow dish of water and watched closely. As the colourful sweets dissolved, a bright rainbow appeared in the water. It was like magic! We talked about why the colours spread out and how water affects the sweets.
Next, we had a challenge with Curly Wurly bars. Each of us grabbed a Curly Wurly and tried to stretch it as far as we could! We laughed as we compared how long each one could get. This helped us learn about how some materials can change shape when we pull them.
Lastly, we found out which biscuit is best for dunking! We had a selection of biscuits on the table, and we dipped them into water to see which one could last the longest before breaking. Our favourite turned out to be the chocolate biscuit with two layers. It was the best for dunking!
As the day ended, we felt happy and excited about what we learned. Science Day was a fantastic chance to explore and have fun at the same time!
