Year 2 had an amazing week this week! On Wednesday, as a school, we all went to St Joseph’s Church to celebrate Ash Wednesday. The atmosphere was wonderful, and everyone felt a great sense of community. We listened to lovely hymns and reflected on the meaning of the day, which was a special time for all of us.
On Thursday, it was World Book Day, and what an incredible day it was! The children all came in dressed as a word, and we had some excellent choices like ‘magical’ and ‘dazzling’! Each outfit sparked so much creativity and imagination. We also had a delightful book swap with the Year 6 students, who came to read stories with us. Sharing our favourite books was such a treat and made the day even more special.
Finally, we all took part in the Big Book Quiz, where we answered questions about all the books we have read this year so far! It was fun to see how much we have learned and remembered. The excitement in the classroom was contagious as we competed to see who could answer the most questions correctly. Overall, we had an amazing day filled with fun and learning!
