What a fantastic end to the term it has been in Year 1!
In Maths, we’ve been learning all about equal numbers and doubles. The children have really enjoyed using practical resources and fun games to explore this concept. It’s been brilliant to see their confidence grow as they’ve discovered how numbers can be shared and grouped equally.
A big highlight this week was finishing our fact files. The students worked so hard to research, write and present their facts.
In Science, we focused on using our ears to hear and went on a walk outside to think about all the sounds we can hear!
In Art, we’ve been experimenting with different types of media, focusing especially on shapes. From collages to mixed-media drawings, the students have loved expressing their creativity in new and exciting ways.
In Religion, we looked at Pope Leo and King Charles meeting and spoke about the importance of peace between people. We made ‘Friendship Chains’ with ways to show peace at school then went into the sunshine to make a friendship circle!
It was also lovely to chat with all of the parents during our recent meetings. Thank you for your ongoing support. It’s been fantastic to reflect on how far the children have come already this year.
Congratulations to all of our wonderful Year 1 students on a brilliant term. We are so proud of everything they’ve achieved.
Have a well-deserved, restful half-term. We look forward to more learning adventures when we return!
