We have hit the ground running in year 3 and are getting back into the swing of things after our lovely summer holidays. Miss Jennings, Mr Murphy and Ms Leedham are extremely impressed by the work produced by year 3 so far. We started our week by making a time capsule. We measured our height, shoe size and we discussed our current likes and dislikes. We then sealed the time capsule and we will revisit it at the end of year 3.
This week we have been focusing on growth mindset and how we can implement a positive mental attitude in different areas of school life. Pupils have also been exploring different ways in which we can make our classroom environment a safe and happy place for everyone. In reading, we have started our new novel ‘The Twits’ ahead of ‘Roald Dahl Day’. In English, we have been exploring creative writing and pupils have had the opportunity to showcase the writing tools they gained in year 2. In Maths we have begun our topic ‘Place value’ and pupils had an opportunity to work with manipulatives to represent numbers to 100.
Have a fantastic weekend
