On Thursday, Year 3 were lucky enough to attend a workshop run by Dan and Jake from the School of Noise. The children learned about how sound works, and had the opportunity to get hands on with a number of different instruments and ways of producing sound including using fruit. They used body percussion to create a music track with assistance from Dan and Jake
The children were also involved in producing Foley sound effects for a short animated film. They used cups and saucers for tea time sounds, gravel to make walking sounds, and foil and bubble wrap to recreate the sounds of a fire.
The School of Noise
My class and I went to the KS1 Hall to meet Dan and Jake. The top three best things I tried out were using foil to make a sound effect, using a black box like a Dj with Jake, and the small green piano thing that made sounds you could play with.

The School of Noise
On Thursday the 11th May people from the School of Noise cam to St Joseph’s. I thin Emerald Class really enjoyed it. My three favourite things I did was seeing the sand move, using the headphones and making sound effects for a movie
