Our week started with a journey back in time to 1066 during our visit to the historic Tower of London. We had a fabulous day and the children loved exploring the Tower! We were very excited to see the crown jewels for real, as well as the famous ravens! We climbed all 200+ steps in the White Tower and saw Henry VIII’s armour! We also braved the ‘Bloody Tower’ and learnt about the mystery of the two princes. We even spoke to a Beefeater! The children also acted out the Battle of Hastings and learnt all about the Tower’s 900 years of history. A big thank you to all the parents who came with us who helped to make our day so memorable. We are know using our expert knowledge in our English, creating a non-fiction booklet all about the Tower of London.
On Thursday, we had the exciting opportunity to create history as we took part in Steve McQueen’s new art project. Year 3 children across London have been invited to have a class photo taken to take a record of what Year 3 looks like in 2018. We were visited by a photographer from Tate Britain who delivered a session to both Year 3 classes about the stories behind a photo. We then had our class photos taken ready to be installed in the Tate galleries next year! We can’t wait to visit the finished exhibition and become a part of 2018 history!!
