Wow! We have been super busy this week in Pre-Nursery. We began the week introducing our new colour ‘orange.’ The children have explored orange playdough and water. They also created their own fish using their hands.
It was a wonderful afternoon on Thursday 27th March when the children got to celebrate our Mother’s and Others Afternoon with the special women in their lives. The children and adults ate, drank and had lots of fun together.
The children had a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny on Friday morning. They were very excited and simply stared at the Bunny before going to say hello. The Bunny came early as we know how busy he is going to be next week preparing for Easter.
For our Caritas this week we learnt about Community and Participation. The children learnt how sharing is a nice and kind thing to do and that we are part of a community and connected in different ways. The children learnt that they are part of the school community and how Jesus helped his community listening to the Bible story ‘Feeding 5000’ We spoke about how God wants us to be in a community with each other and that we can do this by sharing just like Jesus did. The children then went and participated in different activities. Some children built a school and houses to show the community. Some children enjoyed role playing having a picnic and sharing food together. We also stuck our photos around a picture of our school to show we our part of the St Josephs community.
