This week in Pre-Nursery the children have enjoyed becoming mini scientists and doing experiments using different materials. We first listened to the story of ‘The Gingerbread Man’ and made predictions about what they thought might happen to the Gingerbread Man when put into warm and cold water. The children then placed the gingerbread men into the water and watched to see what occurred.
In Little Gems we explored what happens when you put food colouring into milk with some washing up liquid. The children predicted that the colours would all mix together so we were very shocked to see the colours move away from each other.
In Opal class the children explored making their own rain cloud in a jar adding blue water to the shaving foam and watching as it dripped down through the oil and water at the bottom. They also explored what happened when they added vinegar to baking soda.
