It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas for Pearl class, and we have already enjoyed some very special events this week. On Monday Freshwater Theatre Company came to visit us, and the children took part in a drama workshop.
The facilitator transformed the hall into a Christmas story land. The children were led on a magical journey to discover festive stories such as ‘The Snowman’ and ‘The Grinch’. They did a fantastic job of acting out the stories – and they brought them to life wonderfully.
On Tuesday we took part in our amazing ‘Polar Express Day’. We all were invited to wear pyjamas and Christmas clothes. When we arrived in our class we saw a special train, and Sparkle the Elf was also riding on a train.
A letter from her revealed that there were some special tickets for everyone to go on the Polar Express! We made our way to the hall, where our tickets were stamped.
We watched the movie and had snacks as well as hot chocolate and marshmallows. At lunchtime we celebrated with our Christmas lunch. We ate yummy food and sang Christmas songs.
In the afternoon we decorated snowy biscuits, explored ice and even had a go at making snow!
As if this wasn’t exciting enough, we had a visit from Santa! He gave us each a special bell just like the boy in the film received!
