We had a wonderful time connecting with nature this week in Nursery. Inspired by our books about planting, we decided to have a go at planting our own bean plants. We talked about all the things that can help a plant grow and did them all. We have also been learning that we need to be very patient and it is not easy!
On Wednesday we took part in our ‘ECO day’. We started the day by reflecting on the fact that God has given us our amazing world, and we need to help him look after it. We talked about ways we could do that, and the children were very interested to know why we were not going to have our screens on for a whole day! To start with it felt like a challenge, but it meant we had some fantastic conversations instead.
We learnt that one way to look after the planet is to plant more, so we took part in lots of planting activities. We explored the woodlands and outdoor spaces and collected some natural resources that we brought back to the classroom.
We made collages, flower arrangements and greetings cards from them. What a lovely way to celebrate God’s Wonderful World!
