Nursery have been learning about weddings this week. We have enjoyed sharing our experiences of participating in wedding celebrations, and we discussed traditions from around the world.
We made wedding cards and confetti. We acted out ceremonies on the small world table, and made layered wedding cakes: first out of playdough, and later using edible ingredients!
We have had a couple of special visits this week. Sister Anne came to teach us the Nativity Story from the donkey’s perspective. In return we sang her ‘Little Donkey’ – one of the songs we have been practising for our Christmas sing-a-long. We then worked with Sister Anne on an activity where we were asked to draw some things we might to pack in our bag if we were travelling on the long journey to Bethlehem.
Miss Sophia, our eco-expert also visited us this week – to let us know it was National Tree Week! We went on a walk into the forest area and collected different leaves. When we returned to the classroom we made some lovely leaf rubbings using pastels.
We have also been working hard this week on making our Christmas craft decorations for the Christmas Fayre. Didn’t we do a wonderful job!
