Lenten Prayer Service

Last week, Green Class delivered a beautiful Prayer Service which highlighted the importance of Lent and the preparations that we make for Easter.  They came up with some wonderful ideas of how they could make sacrifices that would improve the lives of others. Some examples are each donating a book or two so that by the end of Lent lots of children could share the same joy as they did reading their book, taking an item out of their wardrobe everyday so that  by the end of Lent they could have 40 items to offer to a homeless shelter or collecting a tinned item of food a day so that they could donate 40 items to a food bank. This ties in with the Lenten Challenge that we have been completing in school, for example today’s challenge is sitting next to somebody that we wouldn’t usually sit next to at lunch.
