This afternoon we focused on Coding in Year 3, this is part of the children’s digital literacy/computing skills learning.
Coding can be used to help; reading, writing, perseverance, collaboration, spelling, maths and many other things. We strongly support the use of technology and especially that of valuable skills such as coding.
Coding is all around us, it is behind all the games children play, technology they use and when you think about it…rules and instructions that they follow.
Today they focused on code.org and the ‘hour of code’ activities such as Moana, Star Wars and Frozen.
If you want to take a look the website is below:

Reading
Continue to read with an adult at home. Ask them to ask you some questions about what you have read.
Please remember to get your school planner signed each night after reading with an adult.
Coding/Computing
On Friday the children accessed some coding activities on code.org, they took part in the ‘hour of code’ activities. These are something you could look into at home and support your child’s digital literacy/computing skills.
On code.org the children can access entire courses for free that will teach them to code! We recommend you start on course C, have a go at home!
