In Science we’re studying rocks.
On Thursday we took part in an observing over time experiment about the formation of Sedimentary and Metamorphic rocks…USING CHOCOLATE!
Firstly the children applied different types of chocolate into the cup, this acted as the minerals that is found in sedimentary rock. After which they compacted the chocolate down and repeated so that it formed layers.
After this the children applied heat (to replicate magma) and pressure to morph the rock from Sedimentary to Metamorphic and analysed what it looked like.
