This week in Nursery we have been celebrating Black History Month. The children completed a range of creative activities to celebrate. First the children created African necklaces using paper plates which they decorated with bright patterns. We also talked about African animals and watched videos of animals in Africa. The children then created beautiful sunset paintings to replicate an African sunset and added animal silhouettes which they had cut out. The children also tried a new food this week. The children helped to cut and cook plantain. They loved tasting what they had made! Finally we listened to a Ghanaian folk song, ‘Che Che Koolay’. The children enjoyed learning the words and playing instruments alongside the music.
