With only 18 days to go until Valentines day we wonder whether Aphrodite, the goddess of love, will nourish our hearts with a healthy dose of passion and happiness. We also wonder whether Zeus, the god of the sky and weather, will continue to plague us with dreary skies and cold weather… (how long until summer?!) What we do know for sure is that the Year 5 children can tell us all about the various Greek gods and goddesses! We have spent the last week researching Greek gods and goddesses, finding out about various Greek myth heroes and mythical creatures and discussing some of the famous Greek myth settings including Mount Olympus and the Underworld. We’ve read about some of the horrible villains and encountered some of the most disgusting and vile sights known to man kind! Sights that would make you scream out in horror and cover your eyes in disgust. But enough about Mr Hannigan on a zoom call at 9:30 in the morning. Back to the Greek myths –
The children have now started writing their own Greek myths and we can’t wait to hear about some of the terrible creatures, courageous heroes and ferocious battles!
