This week in Year One, the children took part in their Liturgy of the Word with their classmates, and invited their families to join in with them in prayer. Year One would like to thank Fr. George for coming in and celebrating with us by reading the Gospel and talking to us about the importance of faith in our everyday lives.
Also, Year One have been working really hard this week in their maths lessons. They have been focusing on counting in 10s and using their knowledge of place value to partition numbers into 10s and 1s. They have also been grouping numbers according to their place value. Year One used concrete mathematical manipulatives to consolidate and demonstrate their understanding of 10s and 1s by making a given number and drawing it out. Year One are looking forward to applying this knowledge and using a number line up to 50 next week.
