Year One have done fantastic work this week! We have come back from our break refreshed and ready for the term ahead!
This week in Year One we were excited to start our new focus book Hermelin. The children explored the characters and setting of the story by participating in a series of drama-based activities. Additionally, Year One have observed the setting of the book and created a list poem to describe, in detail, the objects which they could spot.
Also, Year One were fortunate to have a visitor come in to speak to Key Stage 1 about the importance of road safety. Year One engaged in discussion about the dangers of crossing the road, and the strategies that we can use to keep safe. Year One know that we must ‘Stop, Look and Listen’ to check if there are any vehicles coming and to determine whether it is safe to cross the road.
