Wow what a busy term in Year One!
The children have worked so incredibly hard this term. Within our English Unit, students explored the story of Hermelin, a small mouse that helps his neighbours find their missing belongings by leaving a string of letters outlining the location of that object! As a result of this students explored a variety of language features to help plan and construct a narrative text type based on mysteries and detectives – we can’t wait to share these stories with you all!
In Mathematics, we consolidated our knowledge of addition and subtraction, and explored the relationship between these two very crucial concepts. As a result of this, students had many opportunities to revise and consolidate their knowledge of number, and using everyday materials and strategies to support their computation. Students also explored how to measure objects using formal and informal units, allowing them an opportunity to use this knowledge within the real world!
Finally, we would like to thank everyone with their efforts with their amazing projects. We were so over-joyed and proud of the children’s efforts with these, and we cannot wait and see how wonderful next term’s will be.
We wish you all a very safe and blessed Easter Break, and we look forward to seeing you all when we return for the Summer Term.
Happy Easter Everybody!
