This week, the pupils have had a variety of different tasks that they have worked incredibly hard on.
In English, the pupils continued with their vehicle text of Hansel & Gretel by Neil Gaiman and Lorenzo Mattotti. The task was to write a persuasive letter to Hansel & Gretel from the perspective of the old witch inviting them into their cottage. Pupils were encouraged to choose appropriate vocabulary to suit the witch – something which the children managed superbly.
In Maths, the pupils carried on with their understanding of the four operations. We explored and practised long division as well as experimenting with techniques to help break down multi-step word problems.
Is it too early to discuss Christmas? The pupils spent time creating their Christmas posters which are available for purchase next half-term. The children are very proud of their creations thus far!
