This week, Year 6 made the most of the good weather!
On Tuesday, our pupils ran, and participated in, our Change for Change fundraiser event for Fair Trade. We had stalls run by our Safety Leads, Librarians, Sports Ambassadors and Eco-Warriors that consisted of baked goods, penalty shootouts, games with our robots and books to buy. We want to thank all our families at St Joseph’s for your generous donations which allowed this event to be a great success.
During RE, our pupils were learning about the significance of Mary Magdalene being the first witness to the risen Christ. We discussed how her presence as the first witness appears in all 4 Gospels, and how this means people refer to her as the Apostle of Apostles. We finished this activity with a roleplay where our pupils had the opportunity to ask the Mary’s why she feels the Resurrection was significant and why she thinks she was chosen to be the first witness.
We finished the week with a lovely prayer service hosted by Kehinde, Emanuela & Francesca based on Pentecost.
