This week, our Year 6 pupils had a fantastic opportunity to learn about environmental science from a real expert! We were delighted to welcome one of our school parents, Mr Tushar Sethi, an environmental scientist. His visit was an exciting chance for the children to explore the world of science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) and understand the importance of protecting our planet.
During the session, Mr Sethi explained what an environmental scientist does and how their work helps to tackle challenges such as pollution, climate change, and conservation. The children were fascinated to learn about the different ways scientists monitor the environment’s health and develop solutions to keep our air, water, and land clean.
We also learnt about Mr Sehti’s journey to becoming an environmental scientist, along with the things that inspired him when he was the age of our Year 6 pupils. We are so lucky to have parents, such as Mr Sehti, come in to St Joseph’s to inspire our pupils and the future STEM workers of the future.
