This week in Year 6, our pupils carried on with the electrifying topic of “Electricity” in Science. The pupils were prompted with the question, “Is there a relationship between the amount of batteries used in a circuit and the brightness of a bulb?” The pupils had to plan, carry out, observe and record their findings. We did find that there was indeed a relationship between batteries and lightbulbs, mainly that the more batteries, the brighter the bulb. We furthered the investigation by applying the same concept to motors and buzzers.
In preparation for our Poetry Afternoon, we have asked that all pupils memorise a poem that they enjoy by Monday the 22nd of January. The pupils are asked to simply recite the poem or add actions to it. This is to boost our pupils’ confidence and oracy. Take a look at a wonderful poem below that Frankie, from our school team, prepared.
