The pupils in Year 6 worked incredibly hard this week, now settling into being back at school.
In English, the pupils have been using Neil Gaiman & Lorenzo Mattotti’s dark twist on Hansel & Gretel as inspiration to create their own twisted setting description. We discussed using the appropriate vocabulary to convey a dark mood and atmosphere as well as varying sentence structure to engage the reader.
In Music, the pupils discussed tempo, pulse and dynamics through song. The pupils created their own rendition of Pharell Wiliiams’ song, Happy. We have a few potential stars in the making. Is it too early to get excited for the production?
In PE, the pupils began their Tag-Rugby unit of work, drawing inspiration from the World Cup in Paris. We had plenty of opportunities to work on our passing and moving through conditioned games.
