Year 6, and the rest of the school, had the distinct privilege to meet the world-famous, female British athlete, Montell Douglas. Montell Douglas is currently the second-fastest female British athlete. Additionally, she is the only female British athlete to compete not only in the Summer Games (100m sprint), but also in the Winter Games (Bobsleigh). She spent time giving a presentation about her life, her inspirations and her advice to all our students, and, in particular, our female students in sports.
After this presentation and Q&A, the pupils then went outside to complete a fitness circuit led by Montell. The children got their hearts pumping, listened to some great music and encouraged each other to do the best they could.
In English, our pupils have begun a new narrative, based on the wonderful short film, ‘Alma.’ We had some wonderful examples already, and are excited to see the finished products!
