Last week, Year 6 looked at #BlackLivesMatter for their current affairs lessons; they answered a comprehension on George Floyd and began to discuss the recent events in America. They thought about different people’s thoughts and feelings and also discussed any personal experiences they have had. In their reading and writing lessons, they studied Martin Luther King’s poem ‘I Have a Dream’. They took inspiration from this to create their own poems, stating their own dreams for the future in relation to BLM. They then created some beautiful, powerful artwork for the movement.
Take a look at the photos to see some examples of their dreams! With these beautiful ideas, the future looks like a brighter place.
