And that’s a wrap for another half-term, how it has flown! There were lots to get involved with in the final week of Spring 1, below is but a few of the things we did.
In Maths we began our new topic of measurement. He explored the question, “If 2 shapes have the same area, does that mean they will have the same perimeter?” We used this as an opportunity to experiment with and disprove the theory with chalk and meter sticks. One pupil said, ” I enjoyed how when I see area and perimeter questions, I can now close my eyes and picture the shapes we drew outside!”
In English, we have begun our new big writing topic focussed on Human Rights. Due to Amethyst’s recent prayer service on Holocaust Memorial Day, we decided to base our Human Rights big write on Anne Frank and the reason for Otto (Anne’s father) to release her diary to the world. The pupils have loved learning and exploring Anne’s secret annex online.
We finished our week with the privilege of watching a performance of A Christmas Carol. The pupils said they enjoyed how the performance incorporated Wednesday Addams famous dance and how the Ghost of Christmas Past did a rap and breakdance.
Overall, another successful half-term. Well done everyone and see you soon!
