To mark the beginning of Advent (Sunday 3rd of December), Year 6 hosted two school assemblies – one for Years 1 to 3 and the second for Years 4 to 6. The pupils listened to the Nativity Story before listening to the traditional reasons as to why we decorate Christmas Trees the way we do. The Year 6s were role models to the other year groups by carrying out their duties effectively and sensibly.
In Science, the pupils experimented with ice-cold water and how it affects our dexterity. The pupils had to complete tasks before submerging their hands, and then repeat the same experiment before noting the difference. We discussed how cold water constricts our blood vessels which in turn affects our dexterity.
Finally, Year 6 are all prepared for the Christmas Fair tomorrow. We have created cookie jars that have the dry ingredients and a recipe to make scrumptious, festive cookies. Pop in to see us at our stall tomorrow!
