The penultimate week of our Spring Term has finished, and what a busy week it was.
The pupils carried on with their flashback narratives, outlining the death-defying, terrifying perspective of a child lost at sea, battling the elements. This exhilarating present tense is complemented by sentimental memories that the children can recall from their childhood. We have focused on consistent use of fronted adverbials paired with a variety of punctuation to add to the atmosphere of the writing.
The pupils finished the week with a workshop that focused on asthma, run by the wonderful staff of the Whittington Hospital. It is important that the pupils understand the necessity of having inhalers, what is happening inside the body when someone requires their inhaler and what to do in emergency situations. This is all in preparation for the pupils transition to secondary school, ensuring that they are able to look after their own health.
It was lovely to see all the parents and guardians at parents’ evening.
