The Year 6s had a visit from Guy Tallentire, a geographer at Loughborough University who uses lots of maths in his studies. He spends time in Svalbard, well inside the Arctic Circle, where he measures the rate ice is melting while surrounded by polar bears! He delivered a fun and fascinating workshop sharing how he uses mathematics in his work. The children took some of his data and made very accurate graphs from it! Thank you Guy!
