Welcome back all! We hope that you had an enjoyable half term.
Year 5 have been preparing to write adventure narratives based on ‘The Lost Book of Adventure’ published by Teddy Keen.
The children were given a range of images from the book and had to discuss words and phrases, feelings and themes that they could associate with the images. The children looked at a range of objects including a compass, a backpack and an atlas and discussed how they think the objects might link to the story of the book. They then thought about predicting some of the key events in the story and the class discussed ways that they could use the clues that they had so far attained to help them with their predictions.
In their Music lesson the children have been looking at various percussion instruments and have been discussing what a percussive instrument is. They looked at a range of hand drums and spoke about different rhythms that they could create using the instrument.
