Year 5 students were very fortunate to participate in a lesson with the school’s Environmental teacher this week. Students were tasked with finding leaves and looking at their physical qualities to identify what tree they belonged to. Tanzanite and Indigo class were given a special job of planting Daffodil bulbs. Once they were finished, they then collected the fallen autumn leaves in the school’s large play areas and moved them over to the pond and garden which were becoming quite muddy. The added leaves made the area much safer to walk through and limited further erosion caused by rain.
Tanzanite class conducted their prayer and liturgy session today with the help of Edmund, Sebastian and August. The students planned and delivered the session independently. The theme chosen was love and generosity. They chose to read the scripture 1 John 4: 7-12 which celebrates the love God has for us and the love that we all share together.
